Owner and Chef Salvatore Coppola began his training at an early age. As the son of parents born and raised in Naples, Salvatore spent many hours in the kitchen learning how to cook. Coppola's family recipes have been passed down from generation to generation! Before opening Coppola's on 79th Street, Salvatore’s training in New York City Restaurants quickly became a stepping stone in his journey to becoming an Executive Sous Chef.
In 1991, using family recipes he opened Trattoria Coppola. Soon after, Trattoria Coppola became a popular dining location where locals felt they could go to experience a warm hearty, healthy fresh meal. In 1997, this location earned him a 5 Star Diamond Award.
In 1998 Salvatore opened the doors of Coppola's East in the Gramercy Park area of Manhattan. Here, a detailed map of Italy lines the walls alongside beautiful cherry wood paneling and a brigade of Coppola's Vineyard Bottles fill the cocktail bar. Due to its location and newly renovated cocktail bar, Coppola's crowds range from families to friends that meet from all around the world.
In addition to fantastic food and comfortable dining, Coppola's offers an extensive wine list, and a private party room.
